This poem is from the pen of Allan Jackson, whom has had several poems published in the uk as part of anthologies. he has had six books of poems published in the USA.

A Pause in the Breath of Life

Silence like a stalking cat,                                                                                                                                    Creaps up, unanounced and unbidden.                                                                                                                  Street lights shine like hundreds,                                                                                                                                  Of imprisiond stars; static, petrafied.

No breeze blows; no animals stir,                                                                                                                                A pause in the breath of life.                                                                                                                                         The silence hangs suspended,                                                                                                                                      Awaiting the next inhale.

In subtile gentalness thoughts stir,                                                                                                                                  Unwilling to break the silence og nothingness.                                                                                                           The emptyness between heartbeats,                                                                                                                             Like a death shroud; covers all.

The hawk snaps aside the curtain,                                                                                                                              As it calls mournfully for its mate.                                                                                                                             Silence shattered,                                                                                                                                                       And a new breath is taken.

Allan Jackson

Born 18th December 1965

Married Deenagh 30th June 2007

Both Allan & Deenagh live in a village in Scotland and although they keep trying, at the moment there is no patter of tiny feet. in 2000 Allan was diagnosed with Degenerative Spinal Disease......... which basically means  His back is crumbling slowly away. He uses both crutches and a wheelchair ( when its bad ) but his sense of humour keeps him going and provides a laugh for others.

Most of his spare time is taken up with keeping this website going and he " longs to see people interacting with the site " Both he and Deenagh are very happy & hope to be running this site for years to come.
