Yule is the time of Change; a Turning Point. Tides start to turn and travel in the opposite Direction.The Holly and Mistletoe spring forth berries of White and Red symbolizing Fertility. The White berries of the Mistletoe represent the Sperm of the Horned God, while the Blood Red berries of the Holly represent the Menstrual Blood of the Goddess and the Sacrifice Of the God.
Majikly we bring back the season of plenty, we feast on Good Food and drink. The Evergreen Fir tree ( used as the xmas tree ) represents Everlasting Life and Friendship. It also represents ( being Evergreen ) Life amongst Death.The evergreen trees also represent Freshness, Youth and are a symbolic representation Of the Promise of Spring and the turning cycle of Life and seasons.
There is a Pagan Yule custom which is still practised today. The Dressing of an Evergreen Tree ( the xmas tree ) and to lay Offerings in its Branches and around its trunk ( xmas Presents ). It is NOT a Christian Or Catholic custom and is far older than either of these.
