JABORANDI. Pilocarpus jaborandi. TOXIC The essential oil is not recommended for use in Aromatherapy. (Also known as Arruda Brava, Arrudo do Mato, Iaborandi, Jamborandi, Jamguaraddi, Juarandi, Permambuco jaborandi, Permambuco pennatifolius.)

JASMINE. Jasminium officinalis. Promotes confidence and optimism by combating apathy, indifference, listlessness. The absolute oil is for EXTERNAL USE ONLY and it should always be diluted with a suitable carrier oil such as Sweet Almond Oil before applying to the skin. Keep it away from children and pets. It is non-toxic and non-irritant but with possible sensitization in some individuals. Use for childbirth, depression, difficult menstruation, dry skin, frigidity, greasy skin, sensitive skin, stress, uterine disorders, acne, frustration, general skin care, hair growth, hair rinse, high blood pressure, impotence, insect bites, insomnia, irritated skin, nervous tension, oily skin, palpitations, stress related disorders, tachycardia, catarrh, dysmenorrhoea, hoarseness, labour pains, laryngitis, muscular spasm, nervous exhaustion, sprains. Mix with avocado oil for an aphrodisiac massage. (Also known as Common Jasmine, Jasmin, Jasminium grandiflorum, Jasminium officinalis sambac, Jessamine, Poet's Jessamine.) Used in Angel Therapy to stimulate the Second Chakra (sacral) for sensuality, possession, creativity, intimacy and clairsentience - and also to stimulate the Seventh Chakra (crown) for spirituality and linking with the higher self, inner knowledge and cosmic consciousness.

JOJOBA. Simmondsia chinensis. Liquid Wax. Jojoba is pronounced (Ho-Ho-Ba). Rich in anti-inflammatory Myristic Acid. Use for acne, cleansing oily skin, sensitive complexions, combines with sebum and gently unclogs pores of embedded dirt and grime. An excellent moisturiser. Pure Jojoba Oil is a highly effective cleanser, conditioner, moisturiser, and softener for the skin and hair. Remarkably, this oil is virtually identical to sebum, which is secreted by the human sebaceous glands. Sebum is nature's way of lubricating and protecting the skin and hair. Jojoba oil is also nature's way of doing the same thing when age, pollutants, and the environment strip away sebum. Or, if too much sebum clogs the pores or hair fallacies, jojoba oil dissolves excess sebum deposits, cleanses, and restores the skin's and hair's natural pH balance.
