DREAMWORK & MEDITATION
A useful skill is the ability to journey to otherworlds to meet the Goddess and God, to ask for guidance if you have a decision to make, or to give thanks for their blessings, or to meet with otherworldly beings and spirits, to gain knowledge about herbs or diviniation for example. These journeys can be made through either dreamwork or meditation, and both take some time and practice to make these journeys a valuable aid on your Spiritual path. It is patience above all that is required, but it is also a way of improving your patience, which is a virtue that needs nourishing.
Dreamwork, in my experience, is effective for general advice on for example, divination, as I have developed a technique of placing a card under my pillow at night and asking the Spirit of the Cards for help in understanding a particular card, and recalling that dream and recording its meaning for me. It was thanks to this advice from my husband Stormwalker almost 2 years ago that brought us together when I registered with Witchcraft.net and asked if anyone could help me with learning the Tarot cards, and he kindly replied, and the rest is history (in the making). It is also possible to direct your dreams by thinking of the question you have before and as you go to sleep, and recalling that dream the next morning. This takes practice and having a dream diary and pen at your bedside to write down your dream the next morning, which helps you to focus on the question and answers.
Meditation is a more focused technique of making contact with the Goddess and God, and there are many journeys that can be made from a walk in a woodland to meet with the God of the Greenwood, to a walk into the undergrowth to meet with the Goddess in her Crone phase. There will be a variety of meditation journey's in the Meditation section of our website, which will be updated in the near future. It is best to meditate at a time when you won't be disturbed in quiet environment with relaxing music if you prefer or in silence, and it is useful to have a meditation diary and pen to record your experience afterwards. |
