Harvest Moon - September
The moon that shines during this month is called the Harvest or Wine Moon. It is a celebration which closely resembles many aspects of the Celtic Vine Moon.
The Harvest Moon marks the longest gathering period of the year. One that features grapes and the other base fruits used in wine making. Mind to set aside a Libation for your Deity (s)
Blood Moon - October
The name of this month is derived from the face that the livestock is Slaughtered for winter food. Some say it is also named after the ' Blood red ' colour that is often seen surrounding the moon on cold October nights. In the Celtic tradition this would be during the time of the Ivy moon and one of its correspondences is Binding Majik.
They are quite the perfect compliments to each other during this season. We are compelled to bind the blood of the sovereign Lord to the Land he Rules. We are aware that the solar year is marking the Death of our God and we place ourselves into the care of the Icy but Wizen Crone Goddess.
Mourning Moon - November
The harvest is over and the food provisions are readied for the winter. Homes are patched up and made hard against the coming cold & frosty nights. Under this moon we mourn with the Goddess over the Death of the God. As the Mourning Moon reaches its Fullness, we must be mindful that mourning Always ends. The Crone is also the Mother of the New God |
