This is a fantasy three part epic movie, and is essentially about good and evil. The story begins in the Shire where a humble hobbit carries the fate of Middle Earth in a Ring which has to be destroyed in the fires of Mount Doom. This is an excellent portrayal of friendships forged and the strength to be found in solidarity. The power of the ring tests the loyalty of those on the side of good. It is a movie we have watched time and again, and everytime there is something to be learned that has maybe been missed. The visual effects are excellent with magnificient battle scenes. The movie contains many different races of beings and how they come together for good or evil, as they all choose a side on which to fight. This is a highly recommended movie but word of warning - you may need an entire weekend if you are to watch all three movies as each are up to three hours duration (if you have the DVD Box Set Specials, like we have!).
