Some Terms Explained

When discussing the idea for this site with Non-Pagan Friends, one thing that cropped up again & again was " How can we understand properly with all the Jargon " ( Steven Row 2007 )

I had to think about this as I did not realise just how much ' In -house ' terminology I personally spoke when talking to pagan friends. It is an automatic second language and when speaking I found myself switching between the two effortlessly. This can be so confusing for either a Novice or a Layperson. So what follows next is a breakdown of the terms and an explanation as most are centred around the tools that are used in Wicca.

Sky clad             This means to work naked.

Great Mother     The Goddess.

The Sun God      Both the consort and son of the Goddess.

Sabbats              Ceremonies and Festivals celebrated throughout the year.

Closed Down      When a wiccan / witch draws all her / his energies to themselves and does not use them for a while.
